CPM’s Winelands networking event – bringing jewellers and industry players together

Hot on the heels of the July networking event which we organised for our Free State clients, Cape Precious Metals hosted a get-together in the Cape Winelands in mid-August 2023, and it certainly was a crowd-pleasing hit!

This region covers the scenic towns within the Western Cape that have made South Africa famous for it’s rolling vineyards and quality wine exports – including Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Paarl, Franschoek, Wellington, Worcester etc. The natural beauty and artisanal culture of the greater neighbourhood seems to nurture the creative spirit. It’s home to an abundance of supremely talented and productive jewellers, as well as crops of jewellery students from the University of Stellenbosch – with whom Cape Precious Metals is very proud to be associated.

The area keeps CPM sales representative Charmaine very busy, and she visits numerous times every month. As a thank-you to our valued clients there, we were delighted to set up this event to give everyone a chance to mingle in an informative but relaxed setting.

Our partners on this occasion, as per our Bloemfontein gathering, were Cape Tools & Jewellery Supplies, and Jewellers Network magazine.

The Cape Tools team set up five demonstration stations, from which they educated attendees on the ins-and-outs and technical nuances of PUK welding, setting, and engraving, as well as working with soldering paste, sand casting clay, and abrasive and polishing accessories. There was also a pneumatic machine paired up with a new microscope that was of particular interest.

Jewellers Network, represented by Managing Director Sancia Mincher, offered magazine subscriptions to attendees which were snapped up with great enthusiasm.

CPM’s sister company – Moon Investments – donated one of their in-house-manufactured Fine Silver medallions for the lucky draw we held for attendees on the day. Huge congratulations to Bruce Ackerman from African Touch on winning this ethically sourced and 100% recycled bullion investment product.

Thank you to all our clients who joined us at this beautiful location, and to the staff and management of Jordan Wine Estate for graciously hosting this gathering, and providing the wine tasting station which kept our guests hydrated and in cheerful spirits throughout the day.

It was a thoroughly happy and wonderfully interactive experience, and we can’t wait to announce the next one.
