MQA GRANTS ALLOCATIONS – NOVEMBER 2017

The first application window for Discretionary Grants allocations, for the period 01 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, will open on Monday 27 November 2017 by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA). Employers and other stakeholders in the sector are invited to submit their applications for projects listed on the attached document.

JCSA MESSAGE ON VAT REFUNDS – NOVEMBER 2017

Dear Members

 

The VAT Refund Administrators, also known as Tax Refund for Tourists has communicated with the Council that they have recently been advised by SARS that all VAT refund claims lodged at O R Tambo International Airport are required to have a SARS Customs stamp on all tax invoices as “proof that the goods were declared for Customs purposes”. Paragraph 3 (1) (b) of the Export regulations provides that “the relevant goods must first be declared to a customs official before the claim for a refund of tax is submitted”.
